Kaleidoscope Careers was established by Jackie Verity in 2004 following twenty years experience in human resources and career consulting in both the national and international arena. Jackie has lived and worked in Houston, Texas since 1998 before which she worked in the UK, Belgium, France and Germany. On a personal level, Jackie has experienced the rewards and challenges of several international relocations and career transitions. She is well versed in the cultural diversities experienced in the workplace both in the US and abroad as well as being empathetic to those undergoing similar transitions.

Career Transition

Jackie first became involved with coaching those in career transition in the early 1990s when, as ‘a trailing spouse’ in Belgium, she helped found a non-profit organization providing employment assistance to relocating spouses and partners. Jackie is an experienced designer and trainer of group workshops on job search skills, however her particular strength is one-on-one career coaching. She assists clients in every aspect of career exploration and job search from self-assessment, job market and entrepreneurship research, resume and cover letter preparation to successful networking, interviewing and negotiation techniques.  Read what satisfied clients have to say

In addition to coaching her private client base, since 2003 Jackie has also consulted for Right Management, a global player in transition and outplacement services, and since 2004 with Ricklin-Echikson Associates (REA), an industry leader in providing Spouse/Partner Career Relocation Assistance. Jackie brings not only a wealth of knowledge, skills and experience to the coaching relationship, but also a broad network of professional contacts.

Jackie has held full-time corporate roles in Human Resource management, worked in Executive Search and has chosen, when international relocations and family commitments motivated her to work outside traditional corporate boundaries, the more flexible consultancy option. With this range of professional experience, she is ideally qualified to coach those climbing the ‘traditional’ career ladder as well as those who follow a more meandering, (but no less rewarding), career path!

Jackie was born in the UK and graduated with a BA Honors degree in Modern Languages from Oxford University. After her arrival in Houston in 1998 she completed her MBA by distance learning with the UK’s Open University. Jackie is Myers Briggs (MBTI®) Qualified and is a member of the Association of Career Professionals International (ACP), the Association for Psychological Type (APT), The Houston World Affairs Council (HWAC), Houston Relocation Professionals (HRP) and the Society for Intercultural Education, Training and Research (SIETAR).
